Snack Tips For Children

Do you have any tips for improving nutritional development in children?

This is probably the most important period of life for developing
not only health and fitness, but healthy habits that lead to
physical and mental wellbeing.

  • Avoid exposing children to sugars as much as possible.
  • Let children snack. Hungry children are drawn to fatty foods.
  • Keep lots of fresh fruit choices around as snacks.

If you don't have candy and cookies in the pantry children can't eat them.
Children want two things in a great snack food, enjoyable exciting taste
and the ability to fill the hunger void.

Finally, remember that the holidays are not an excuse to drown children
in chocolate bunnies, birthday cakes and Halloween candy.

Some good choices are:

  • Fresh fruit
  • Frozen fruit
  • Frozen fruit juice
  • Unbuttered popcorn
  • Fresh vegetables
