Kids only want to play all the time
My kids seem to be only interested in playing all of the time, what can I do?
What did you do as a child? Playing is the natural process of them learning
eye/hand coordination skills and developing balance and muscle tone as well as
social and group personal interaction skills, but there are things you can do.
First, find time to be with your children. In our adult world we tend to assign
importance to many things that aren't really all that important to the function of
our family or lifestyle, yet they consume a large amount of our time. So take a
good look at your schedule and determine if you can shift some of the wasted
time to your children. Besides, which do you think is the more important?
- Try to be constructive and not fill all their time with more play.
- Avoid adult interest only activities that quickly bore them.
- Look for things to do that bring out the best in each child.
Each child has some special skill traits or abilities that make them better at
certain functions. Some may be gifted artists, musicians, writers, or athletes
and it is ( your responsibility) as a parent to identify these special skills and
gently redirect the child in this direction. The earlier you do this the better.
Children who find their ( niche ) early in life become the experts and achievers
of tomorrow. They find it easy and enjoyable to pursue their calling in life and
provide the gift of their skills throughout their productive and fulfilling life.
Society spends almost all of their energies looking for and pondering all of
the potential negatives in children and then we give them names like ADHD.
Perhaps some of that time would be better spent seeking the natural skills
that are positive and productive, yet hidden within each and every child.
